Conference BeWild : le retour du sauvage en forêt wallonne ?
WWF is organizing a conference entitled BeWild as part of the Festival International Nature Namur. This event dedicated to rewilding aims to highlight rewilding approaches that can be applied in Belgium, and more specifically in Wallonia. How can these principles be implemented in the field? What might this look like in Wallonia?
On this occasion, Sébastien Lezaca will speek about the return of the wild to Wallonia's forests: European pruce is suffering from repeated droughts. The bark beetle is challenging our silvicultural model. How can we meet these challenges? Is climate change an opportunity for a more resilient forest, the forest of tomorrow? What role could large herbivores like the European bison play in these forests?
